Lambent Get Lambent

Privacy policy

Your library stays yours.

Your video and library stay on your devices. The only thing that reaches our servers is what it takes to keep a Lambent Enhance purchase working.

Last updated: November 4, 2026.

What happens to your data

  • No analytics, no advertising, no tracking. You need no account to use Lambent. An account exists only if you buy Lambent Enhance, as described below.
  • Your video stays on your network. Lambent reads video files from your Apple Vision Pro and from network storage you add, and connects to a computer on your own network that runs Lambent Server, the optional companion app.
  • Library data stays on your devices. Your library cache, settings and playback positions stay on your devices; Lambent Server keeps its library index, cache and settings on your PC.
  • The local connection is not encrypted and has no sign-in. Anyone on the same local network who can reach your computer could read the library it serves, so use it only on networks you trust.

Permissions the headset app asks for

  • Local Network. Lambent looks for your computer running Lambent Server on your local network and streams the video you choose from it. It can also reach network storage you add. Nothing leaves your network.
  • Headset position. Lambent uses your headset’s position and tilt to keep the picture where you place it and to keep close-ups comfortable. Nothing is recorded and nothing leaves your device.

Lambent Server for Windows and Mac

  • It serves only your own files. Lambent Server watches the folders you choose and answers requests from devices on your local network. It does not send your files, library or viewing to us or anyone else. The one thing it contacts us for is its licence, described below.
  • Everything it keeps is on your computer. Its library index, thumbnails, cache and settings live in the app’s own data folder. Removing the Microsoft Store version of the app removes that data with it.
  • Enhance on PC runs on your graphics card. The picture is processed on your PC and sent to your headset over your local network; nothing is uploaded.

Lambent on TVs, phones and tablets

These apps connect to the media server you choose: your Lambent Server, or a Jellyfin, Emby or Plex server. Some features also ask outside services for information. When they do, that service sees your internet address and what the app asks for, under its own privacy policy. We don’t receive any of this.

  • Plex. If you use a Plex account, the app signs in and finds your servers through plex.tv.
  • Artwork and details. Some screens load pictures and details from The Movie Database (TMDB).
  • Trailers. Trailers come from YouTube, and the segments to skip in them from SponsorBlock.
  • Book discovery. Browsing for books uses Open Library, Google Books, LibriVox and the Internet Archive.
  • Lists and themes you add. External lists come from MDBList, and downloadable themes from GitHub.
  • Your own requests. A request service you connect, such as Seerr, receives what you ask it for.

Lambent Enhance and the licence service

Lambent Enhance is a subscription that belongs to your Lambent Server. A small licence service tells your server what has been paid for. It never receives your video, your library, what you watch or the names of your screens.

  • Your server’s ID. Each Lambent Server makes a random ID, a public key, which is not based on you or your computer. It sends this ID, signed, about once a day to collect its licence.
  • Your email address, if you give one. We keep the email you bought with, or the one you sign in with on the account page, to link purchases to your server and to send sign-in codes.
  • Your purchase. We keep what you bought, when it runs out, whether it was refunded, and the store’s reference for it: a Paddle subscription ID, an App Store transaction ID or a Google Play purchase token. We never see your card details.
  • Abuse limits. To limit sign-in requests we count them against a hash of the email address and the internet address they came from, for a short period.

We use this information only to provide and support your purchase, and we do not sell it.

Companies involved

  • Paddle is the seller for purchases on our website and handles payment, tax and receipts under its own privacy policy.
  • Apple and Google handle purchases made in their apps under their own privacy policies.
  • Vercel hosts this website and the licence service, Neon hosts its database, and Resend sends its email.

These companies may process information outside your country.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep account and purchase records while your purchase is active and for up to 3 years after it ends, for support, refunds, and tax or legal duties, then delete them. A server ID with no purchase is deleted within 12 months of the last time we heard from it. Sign-in limits are deleted within about a day, and sign-in codes expire after an hour. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email us. Deleting it ends the link between your purchase and your server, so cancel any subscription first.
